This is my first attempt at a blog. Heaven knows how this will turn out, but it should be fun. I'm looking at retirement (goodness, how did I get that old that quickly???) and I want to do all the things I never had time to do when I was so busy with my career. I am an avid reader, if it has words, I'll try it. I must admit though, I don't enjoy horror or really creepy stuff. Working with 11-16 year olds is enough drama for anyone, so I enjoy just escaping to places where "it all works out in the end". I've found out that IT NEVER WORKS OUT IN THE END ususally!!

I also am a somewhat new knitter. I know the basics and have done dozens of simple baby sweaters, hats, and booties -- plus the inevitable scarves. I am just about ready to leap into stuff for adults. I have finished one sweater for myself and it must be okay because the Fashion Police i.e. beautiful adult daughter, loved it and asked for one for herself.

My other major interest is my monogramming machine. I have a Bernina and enjoy playing with it. It doesn't do heavy items and has some limitations, so I have begun thinking .......hmmm, wonder if I could come up with the zillion dollars to buy a bigger machine???? Stay tuned.
